Asta [AMP]So I still occasionally try and play the Forza Horizon games because I own them, but inevitably when I do, I become angry at Microsoft because I was heavily into one of them when I was laid off. Plus, now all the little things I used to ignore (why do the only Forza Horizon games available have you ruining shit in Scotland and Mexico, places that have experienced... look, the developers are English, why are we not beating up Stonehenge or London, huh? Also, who programmed the animals to jump out in front of you in the middle of scripted race events?! Are we supposed to want to hit the animals? What the fuck is wrong with you?!) ... anyway uhhhh yeah, so, I need some new racing games with decent physics that scratch that urge to fuck around with mechanical stuff and feel nice and weighty and let me swap out parts and do stupid shit 😅 gotta be PC as well. Cyber YukiPlaying the NFS whatever game I bought, and I realized learning to drift made all the difference. (Thank you, Initial D! :awesome: )Learning to control the damn thing only with a tiny stick is challenging as it is (among the techniques I learned: Short break followed by a sudden acceleration to stay on track, moving the steering wheel to the opposite side you'ee turning to regain stability during a drift, intermittent acceleration for controlling your speed, and intermittent turning (with the stick) for controlling your turns.Really hard to master all these techniques, I now understand how badass pro drivers are.I also learned how easily you can lose control of your car if you get distracted even for a fraction of a second. Totalled my car just like that. But I'm getting three hang of it and already reached level 4 today.I don't hate racing games anymore! :blobcheer2: Still, I wish there was a cruise mode just to space out and enjoy the view. Cursing at Forza Horizon and their contract with Microsoft for making it an XBox exclusive. 🫤The game also gave me a newfound respect for highway engineers who made sure their curves had a constant curvature ratio to minimize drivers' handling of the steering wheel.
